What Happens After Renewing Online?

Plates Not Received - Renewal Errors

Searching for Registrations

You can search by either:

  • PIN - You can find the PIN number on the registration renewal notice.

OR

  • License plate AND registrant's birth date - (If there are two registrants on the renewal notice, you can use either birth date).

Do not enter all three fields, or any other combination of the data.

Business-owned vehicles can only be searched by PIN. If you do not have the PIN, please try the DHSMV's website. Otherwise, please complete and mail the Renewal By Mail form.

If you can't find your registration, and you have double checked that you entered everything correctly, it may not currently be renewable through RenewExpress and you should try the DHSMV's website.

Multiple Registrations

You can renew more than one registration at a time. You can search and add another registration each time after you add one to your cart.

After you have finished adding renewals to your cart, click Continue to checkout and pay.

12 or 24 Month Renewals

Some vehicles can be renewed for either 12 or 24 months. You can change the number of months to renew using the Months drop-down list.

Registered in a Different County?

This site can only be used for vehicles registered in Manatee County. If your vehicle is registered in a different Florida county, please click here to find that county's site.

How to Change Your Address

Unless you update your mailing address, your registration renewal(s) will be mailed to the address on file for the registration(s).

To view or update your mailing address on file, enter your PIN or license plate and date of birth to search for your vehicle, then click "View/Update Mailing Address." Before the address on file will be displayed, you will be asked to verify your identity by entering the first line of the address exactly as it is printed on your renewal notice. If you are unable to verify and correct the address, we strongly recommend you do not proceed as the address cannot be corrected until you receive the new registrations renewals in the mail. This will incur an additional fee. Contact your Tax Collector's Office for assistance.

The Details On My Renewal Are Incorrect

If you need to make any changes to the information on your renewal, contact the DHSMV. Please note, however, that the information we show on the website is from data that the DHSMV initially sends us three months before the expiration date, so any recent changes may not be reflected on the site.

I've Already Renewed but the Website Still Shows My Renewal as Due

The information we show on the website is from data that the DHSMV initially sends us three months before the expiration date, so any recent changes may not be reflected on the site. If you completed and paid for your renewal by some other method and already received it, you do not need to do anything else. If you attempt to renew it again, it will be rejected by the DHSMV the next business day, you will receive an email notification, and your card will be refunded.

Why Can't I Renew Online?

The DHSMV sends the data that we use on the website and the County uses to send your renewal notice. In some cases the DHSMV may have marked your registrations as not renewable online. There are several reasons that they mark it as not renewable online but one of the most common is when proof of insurance is required.

If your registration is not renewable online and if you have your renewal notice, please submit it by mail or complete and mail the Renewal By Mail form. If you need to find out more about why you cannot complete your renewal online you must contact the DHSMV. We do not have any more information than what is displayed on the website when you search for your renewal.

Payment Options

You can pay online using credit or debit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express).

When using a credit or debit card, an authorization will be requested immediately from your card issuer. Your payment will be processed the next business day.

Payment Fees

The Processing Fee is $2.95 for each renewal. These fees will be displayed before you check out, when you will have the option to continue or cancel the transaction. The Manatee County Tax Collector does not receive any part of the Processing Fee.

Problems Checking Out?

You may not have filled out all of the required fields correctly, or there may be a problem with your browser. Scroll to the top of the page to look for an error message. If you do not see one you can try using a different browser or reloading the page.

Can I Cancel My Payment or Cancel the Renewal?

All online payment transactions are final, and cannot be reversed, cancelled, post-dated, changed or refunded. Please verify all of your information, including the vehicle(s) being renewed, before checking out.

When & How Will I Get My Renewal?

Registration renewals will be sent to the DHSMV for processing the next business day. All successful registration renewals will be sent by first-class mail within 3-5 business days. If you do not receive your decal(s) within 10 days, or you need a replacement, you can visit the Manatee County Tax Collector's website for information on what to do.

Renewal Not Received or Address Was Incorrect

You should first check your email to make sure that you received an email from us confirming that your registration was successful or letting you know why it was rejected. If you didn't receive an email it is possible that you didn't do the renewal online properly and you should email renewexpress-support@grantstreet.com to confirm that your renewal was completed. Include the county your vehicle/vessel is registered in, the license plate or PIN, and the date you attempted to do the renewal.

All successful registration renewals will be sent by first-class mail within 3-5 business days. If you do not receive your decal(s) within 10 days, or you need a replacement, you can visit the Manatee County Tax Collector's website for information on what to do. If you completed your online renewal but used the wrong address you can find information on how to apply for a replacement on the Manatee County Tax Collector's website.

Rejected Renewal Requests

At the end of each day we batch up the renewal requests completed online that day (the next business day following a weekend) and send them to the DHMSV for processing. The DHSMV will either accept or reject the renewal request, at which point your payment method will be charged the full amount of the renewal. You will receive a confirmation email when your payment has been processed. If your renewal is rejected, you will receive an email notice and your payment method will not be charged or will be refunded for the amount of the renewal that was rejected. The refund may take a few days to show up on your statement.
